Something else to note is the fact that while Jude uses the word “deigma” for example, specimen, etc, Peter uses “hupodeigma.” The significance of this is that the word “hupodeigma” is used by Christ in John 13, where He says that his foot washing is an example. It is a type. In fact, that is exactly how the book of Hebrews uses the word in chapter 8.

The judgment on S&G is understood by the apostles typologically.
